GogiPet PREMIUM A5 blade size 40 (0.25 mm)

Snap On blade cleaning and maintenance

Clean Snap On blades when the cutting performance decreases or when, for example, hair gets between the blades and the shaving head plucks.

Blade care Snap On blade
Maintenance and care of A5 (Snap On or Clip) blades
  1. To do this, push the blade more than halfway to one side and clean the gap thoroughly with the cleaning brush.
  2. Then slide the blade to the other side and repeat the process.
  3. Push the blade back and oil the shaving head.
Thorough cleaning

If the blade still does not cut after simple maintenance, there is a hair between the precision blades exactly in the middle, please remove the blade completely by pushing it all the way out. Clean the plates thoroughly with a soft cloth (toilet paper is best) and replace the blade (follow the instructions for blade replacement).

Snap On blade Replace blade
Shearing blade guide and blade replacement

When you change the blades (possible in ceramic or steel for GogiPet blades) or replace the blade guide (white here, but can also be black or grey depending on the manufacturer).

  1. Slide the blade completely out of the clamp.
  2. Replace the (plastic) blade guide and/or the replacement blade.

To replace the blade, lift the clamp slightly with a flat screwdriver. (Do not overstretch when lifting slightly).

Replacing the blade, inserting the blade for shaving heads

Just high enough for you to push the blade back in.

Insert blade with A5 shaving heads

Insert the blade approximately in the middle and oil the shaving head

Important Notice!
  • Never open the screws on the front of the clipper head, as you would alter the plate pressure and render the clipper head unusable.
  • Oil Snap On clipper heads every 5-10 minutes to avoid overheating, especially with newer clippers that have a faster stroke rate, as clipper heads heat up very quickly.
  • It is highly recommended to use cooling and oil sprays specifically designed for clipper heads, as you can continue working immediately without having to wipe off the oil.
  • If the clipper head still does not cut, proceed as you would when changing the blade and thoroughly clean the blade and clipper head before reinserting the blade.
  • If the blades are blunt, please take them to a local sharpening service.

Premium Blade with Ceramic Cutting Blade and Titanium Coating

GogiPet Premium Blades set new standards for A5 blades. All GogiPet Snap On blades are made of ice-hardened steel, which is exceptionally hard and promises impressive durability.

GogiPet Premium Snap On Blades feature extra-thick ceramic cutting blades refined with a titanium coating. These A5 blades, developed specifically for GogiPet Premium, combine reduced heat generation, long-lasting sharpness, corrosion resistance, and optimal glide of ceramic blades with the robustness of steel.

Replace GogiPet Premium Cutting Blades Instead of Sharpening

A high-quality sharpening service is costly and time-consuming. That's why GogiPet offers an innovative solution with its premium ceramic cutting blades: instead of sending the A5 blade for sharpening, you can simply replace the dull cutting blade yourself and continue working immediately.

Professional Snap On Blade

The blades with the clip-on system fit all common clippers with the standard Snap On blade system, also known as the A5 blade system.

Snap On Blades with A5 Blade System

What is a Snap On Blade?

This blade is known under various names such as Snap-On blade, A5 blade, or clip blade, but it is essentially the same and can be flexibly used across different manufacturers. This gives you the freedom to choose the blade with the best price-performance ratio, independent of the brand. Apart from oiling and cleaning, the Snap-On blade is virtually maintenance-free and has become a proven standard. Small animal clippers with proprietary blade systems, on the other hand, often tie you to a specific brand – something to consider when purchasing a new clipper.

A5 Blades with or without "F"?

From Size 7 (3.2 mm) and up, Snap-On blades are available with or without the "F" designation. Blades without "F" (skip-tooth) have coarser teeth – essentially every second tooth is missing – which allows easier penetration of the coat, especially if it's not perfectly smooth or mat-free. For finishing, i.e. the final clipping pass, a blade with the "F" (full-tooth) designation is recommended, as it combs and smooths the coat while cutting for a particularly fine result. For shorter blades, the tooth structure is described individually, as they feature a special design.

How Does a Blade Work?

In essence, a blade behaves like a comb. It can only cut where it can glide through the coat. That means with matted fur, you can only cut to about 5 mm or shorter. Cutting directly into mats is technically not possible, as the blades have no entry point.

Dog Groomer Vienna Tip:

To minimize wear on blades and maintain cutting and gliding performance, it's recommended to oil the blades every 10 minutes. The easiest way is with an oil and cooling spray: just spray briefly on the blade and continue working!

Upon delivery, small hairs may be visible, as each GogiPet blade is factory-tested on sample material. This does not indicate a used blade.

Small hairs at delivery are possible, as each GogiPet A5 blade is individually tested at the factory.
