The cutting plates must be oiled before each cutting operation with the blade mounted: Running dry can cause the blade to overheat and damage the machine. If the blades are used regularly, they should be taken apart at intervals of a few days and cleaned with a soft cloth or brush. Extra care should be taken when cleaning the gaps between the teeth. After cleaning, the blades should be lightly oiled (rust protection). Before assembling, the sliding surfaces must be absolutely clean. For this purpose, we recommend wiping them with a clean palm. The blade can only cut cleanly if there is no hair between the cutting plates. The adjusting screw may only be tightened to such an extent that the upper cutting plate can still be moved by hand from the side with medium pressure. (If the adjusting screw is tightened too much, the blade will heat up considerably and this can damage the machine). Blades are changed while the machine is running. To do this, press the lever on the side of the machine. Make sure that the changed blade locks securely into place. To prolong the cutting quality, remove the impurities in the hair. When clipping animals, we recommend bathing the animal, combing it out thoroughly and loosening matted areas well. This is indispensable for cutting heights of 9 mm and more. The blades can be reground several times. During clipping, always use an oil spray to prevent the blade from running dry.
