One of the most important tasks when clipping with clippers is regular oiling of the blades to maintain the life and cut quality of the clipper heads. Failure to oil regularly can irreparably damage the blade and the clipper itself by burning the oscillating mallet. If the blade heats up too much, skin burns cannot be ruled out.

As a rule, you have already received clipper oil with your clipper, which must be applied to the blades of the clipper head every 5 - 15 minutes. The faster the clipper, the faster it needs to be oiled. The application of clipper oil is sometimes a bit cumbersome because the oil has to be wiped off every time. The clipper oil is therefore better suited for storing the blades. Oil the blades well after each use and store them in their packaging. This will prevent from flash rust and you will enjoy your blades for a long time.

For clipping itself, oil and cooling sprays prove to be a real blessing, as they are simply applied with a few sprays and you can continue working immediately without having to wipe off the oil. But oiling at intervals of 5 - 15 minutes also applies.

You should be careful with pure cooling sprays, which usually have a designation such as Ice Blade. Regular oiling is very important for Snap On blades, A5 blades and Aesculap Favorita blades. The time interval is much shorter for the blades of partial-range clippers and paw clippers, as these clippers operate at a lower power.
